WASHINGTON, DC—Defense Priorities is pleased to announce Jennifer Kavanagh has joined the organization as a senior fellow & director of military analysis.

“On behalf of the entire team, I couldn’t be more excited that Jennifer has joined our roster of impressive policy analysts and experts,” said Defense Priorities President Edward King. “Jennifer adds a new, critical line of research at Defense Priorities, providing sophisticated military analysis and force structure recommendations based on a realistic grand strategy. She’ll continue to be a go-to resource for journalists and policymakers who want to understand foreign and defense policy and military power in a world of increased security competition.”

“I am very excited to join the Defense Priorities team and to contribute to its already extensive portfolio of work advancing realism and restraint in U.S. foreign policy,” said Senior Fellow & Director of Military Analysis Jennifer Kavanagh. “There is a role for hard power in protecting U.S. national interests, but it should be a narrow one—much narrower than what we observe today. My work at Defense Priorities will aim to right-size and prioritize U.S. defense commitments to reduce the risks that the United States ends up overstretched or involved in new wars.”
