U.S. should not lose focus on China's nuclear buildup

With the recent North Korean ICBM launch, as well as the many nuclear shadows emanating from Russia's brutal invasion of Ukraine, it is no wonder that prices are increasing for deep underground bunkers.

The Kremlin has indeed put its nuclear forces on high alert, and Russian strategists have noted that the country possesses thousands of tactical nuclear weapons that could be used if the Russian state is threatened. Yet, a combination of standard deterrence practices accompanied by due caution from American leaders should be sufficient to keep both of these crises from exploding.

As so often is the case in world politics today, the real challenge for the future of the planet concerns China. That is for two main reasons.
