Trump fires national security adviser, signaling new China line
“Since they have been two of the more hawkish of Trump’s advisers, especially when it comes to China and U.S. policy toward Taiwan, their firing does open the door to replacements more aligned with Trump’s seeming hesitancy to confront China militarily, especially over Taiwan,” said Jennifer Kavanagh, director of military analysis at the Defense Priorities think tank.
