David McCourt

Defense Priorities

David McCourt is non-resident fellow at Defense Priorities and an associate professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of California-Davis.

McCourt’s research interests focus on the social factors behind foreign policy-making in the United States, the European Union, and his native United Kingdom. He is currently working on a sociological analysis of the U.S., China, and Russia watching communities. He holds a BA in Modern History from the University of Oxford, an MPhil in International Relations from the University of Cambridge, and a PhD in International Relations from the European University Institute, Florence, Italy.
