Brian Haggerty

Defense Priorities

Brian T. Haggerty is a non-resident fellow at Defense Priorities.

Haggerty previously served as a senior analyst and manager at the Central Intelligence Agency from 2016-2025, where he focused on Middle East security issues and served multiple warzone tours. He was formerly a teaching fellow and research assistant at Harvard University and MIT, adjunct staff at the RAND Corporation, and managed the national security program at the Tobin Project. His research and commentary have appeared in Bloomberg, Chicago Tribune, The Economist, The Times (London), and several think tank and policy publications. He holds an AB in Government from Harvard, an MTS in Islamic Studies from Harvard Divinity School, and an SM in Political Science from MIT where his research focused on Middle East security and U.S. national security policy.
