Lyle Goldstein, the director of Asia Engagement at the foreign policy think tank Defense Priorities, said while the rebellion was an embarrassment to Putin and displayed weakness, it may not be enough to change the trajectory of his war.
“My guess is this will kind of be a minor footnote in the whole war, an interesting one absolutely but you know, I think they have managed to, the Kremlin has managed to finesse its way out of this,” Goldstein said.
