Former Pentagon official Dan Caldwell said NMESIS was more fitting for the theater. The Typhon can only be carried around in large military transport aircraft like the C-17 and is not maneuverable, he said.

“The NMESIS system is designed to be moved around easily and that type of system is much more advantageous to a fight in the Pacific than a Typhon system,” Caldwell said.
